This Westfield, NJ home was in need of painting, and exterior carpentry updates when our team at Monk’s was called in. Over the course of two weeks our team sanded the house to bare wood, replaced loose shakes, and installed new azek and flashing under the home’s eaves.
When our team arrived on site it was decided that the first step of this project would be sanding the entire house down to 95% bare wood.
Sanding the house down to 95% bare wood is important if the home has not been painted in a number of years. This process ensures that the new paint will not flake off, but will instead adhere efficiently to the home.
While on site our team also replaced several loose shakes.
Our carpenters also added new azek trim and flashing along the home’s eaves to help keep squirrels out. Once the house is entirely sanded it is given two separate coats of primer.
After the primer two full coats of high quality exterior paint are applied.
The home’s detached garage was also treated to a full exterior paint job.
In only two weeks our team had drastically improved the exterior of this home!
Another job well done by our team at Monk’s!
