Joy’s Angels Gets a Hand from Monk’s

Joy’s Angels Holistic Healing Center is serving the Mountain Lakes community by assisting cancer patients through their challenging journey. The Healing Center offers a wide range of alternative therapies such as meditation, massage, aromatherapy, and yoga, among others. As a non-profit organization, Joy’s Angels offers these healing methods free of charge to their clients. Understanding that cancer treatment presents a considerable financial burden, the Healing Center relies on outside donations to fund their practice.

The Healing Center is led by Reverend Denise Joy Ridner.  Joy began practicing as a licensed massage therapist 17 years ago. Making such a positive impact on her clients, she came to the attention of local oncologists. They began referring their patients to her and soon made Joy an integral part of their practice. This led to Joy’s most recent expansion into her very own space on the second floor at 333 Route 46 West in Mountain Lakes, funded entirely by the oncology practices in the building.

Monk’s Home Improvements was glad to offer support to Joy and the Healing Center by painting the interior of the space. Joy and her team selected serene, calming colors that would suit the various therapies being offered in the space.

The Healing Center has two treatment rooms, a Tranquility Room used for small group sessions, as well as a large studio for Yoga classes. In the treatment rooms, Joy and her team of volunteers work one-on-one with patients through healing touch, massage, aromatherapy and reiki. These therapies help to relieve stress and increasing their sense of peace.

We included the paint color plan by room below. If you are looking for calming colors, these may be a good option for your home or business.

Monk’s In the Community

Monk’s employees live in the towns we serve, and we do our best to give back to the community. Since 2014, we offer an annual service scholarship where we award 5 local students with $2,000 scholarships.  If you know a service-minded student who is entering or continuing college, encourage them to apply for our service scholarship right here on our website.

We’ve also provided labor donations to other non-profit organizations. We’ve donated our time to schools, firehouses, ambulance squads, sports teams, and places of worship. If your organization is in need of painting or light carpentry, please contact us as we may be able to help out.
