Timeline: 10 days
Your living room is one of the most important spaces in your home. Giving your living room the look and feel you’ve always desired can make your home an even more special place. The owner of this Basking Ridge, NJ home wanted new floors, and a new paint job to update the worn out room. The owner also envisioned building a partial wall to separate the room into sections without losing the feeling of openness. Our team at Monk’s arrived on the job, and in only ten days this living room had a brand new look!
To begin this project our team removed the existing hardwood floors. Once the floors were out of the way our team was able to install a new plywood sub-floor. A stable sub-floor is very important because it is what the hardwood floors will be nailed onto. Once the sub-floor was in place the new pre-finished hardwood floors could be installed.
Our team at Monk’s always makes sure to take every precaution to protect your home as we work. Furniture and other belongings are wrapped in practice for protection
For this remodeling project, the homeowner wanted our team at Monk’s to build a partial wall to give the living room two separate areas, without completely closing one off to the other. Our team of skilled carpenters framed out the partial wall, sheetrocked, taped, and spackled it.
Once the partial wall was constructed our team installed crown molding around the entire living room.
