Sanding Painted Brick Exterior in Morristown, NJ

Sanding Painted Brick Exterior

Scope of work: Sanding Brick, Exterior Trim Repairs
Location: Morristown, NJ  07960
Timeline: 3 days

The owners of this Morristown, NJ home wanted a new look for the exterior of their classic brick home.  Initially, the brick home was covered in beige paint. However, the homeowners wanted the brick exterior to be visible and have a more rustic, weathered look. Our team worked closely with the homeowners to achieve exactly the look they wanted. Separately, while on site we also replaced rotten corner trim with composite.  Monk’s completed the entire project only three days.

First, we selected a 3′ x 3′ section of the house and carefully sanded it under the homeowners’ supervision. The customer chose the level of paint removal she desired. Based on that test area, we continued sanding the rest of the house at the requested level. After all the sanding was completed, we power washed the brick to remove all the dust.

When we came out for the estimate, we noticed some rotted and damaged trim. There were a number of holes in the upper portion of the trim. The holes are likely due to woodpeckers who enjoy pecking on anything made from wood. So, as part of the project, we removed all the damaged trim. We always replace trim with composite material due to its moisture resistance and durability.
