This basement half bath suffered water damage due to a leak from the bathroom a story above. The ceiling, walls, and floor were all damaged. So, the homeowners decided to make the best of an unfortunate situation by updating the entire powder room. In addition to repairing the damaged areas, we also transformed a dated mauve bathroom into a lovely modern space.

Basement Half Bath Remodel
Once a plumber fixed the cause of the water damage, we were able to get started. We began by removing the existing toilet, sink and mosaic floor tile. We also removed the wallpaper border adjacent to the ceiling. Our carpenters replaced the water damaged ceiling and drywall.
On the floor, we installed new porcelain tile in a large 12″x24″ format. The large tiles require fewer grout lines. This tile pattern also has the look of natural stone. We installed the tile and new base trim.
We then installed a new white toilet. In addition, we installed a floating vanity featuring a quartz top. We then painted the entire room a complementary, neutral shade. New light fixtures were installed and accessories were hung.
