Cement-Look Tile Shower Over Tub

Cement-Look Tile Shower over Tub

The hallway bathroom in this Denville, NJ home was mostly functional but totally dated. The tiles were pinkish-beige with flowers and which were installed all around the room. The floor consisted of small brown tiles and the vanity was ornate and laminate. The lighting fixture was also an interesting piece. These elements just didn’t work together. The homeowner couldn’t wait to update this bathroom.

The first step was for an Estimator to visit the home. Here, he took measurements and notes the plumbing and electric. The narrow bathroom didn’t allow for any layout changes. So the finishes will be all new but within the same footprint.

Then the homeowner visited our showroom in Morristown, NJ where they met with a Designer.  She got a sense of what they wanted in their new hallway bathroom and their sense of style. The only plumbing change was for the vanity. The homeowners wanted double sinks instead of the single that they have currently.  The Designer helped them select a warm-toned vanity. The brown wood vanity also compliments the bathroom door, as well as all the doors and trim throughout the home. Additionally, they wanted to replace the large single mirror. They selected two framed mirrors that would hang above the double sinks.

A squared tub was chosen to replace the beige tub. A cement-look tile was chosen for the floor and shower tile. The tile is actually porcelain which is very durable and water-tight. However, the finish on these tiles gives them a textured look with varied gray tones. Larger format tile was installed at the base of the shower just above the tub. We installed smaller 3×12 tiles along the top half of the shower. We separated the two differently sized cement-look tile with a marble mosaic accent tile. Quite an update from the previous look!

Now this Denville, NJ home has a gorgeous hall bathroom that is ready for guests.
