This Morristown, NJ home features a very large, 3-car detached garage. The second floor of the structure houses a guest room. The upstairs hadn’t been used in some time. The homeowners wanted it repainted so visitors could stay there comfortably. In order to make the room more hospitable, we added insulation in the crawlspaces. The garage below was also given a fresh coat (or two) of paint.

Detached Garage and Guest Room Interior Painting
The first step of this project was to add insulation in the crawl space areas in the bedroom. Once the dormers were insulated, the painters began their prep work. Everything in the garage was wrapped to protect it from the paint. The painters spackled and smoothed the walls and ceilings wherever necessary.
The homeowner selected to keep the existing color scheme. This meant we repainted the garage walls a deep green. The ceiling was a traditional white. Upstairs in the bedroom, a more neutral light sand color was applied. Our painters were happy to know that the upstairs carpet was going to be replaced, so they didn’t need to use drop cloths as they would normally.
In about a week, both levels of this detached garage were painted and ready to house vehicles as well as overnight guests.
