Entryway Custom Built In

Every family could use a little more organization, right? An entryway custom built in helps any family to be more organized, including these Madison, NJ homeowners. The homeowners brought in Trevor Monk to build a custom unit that would help organize the most commonly used entrance space.  Working with the homeowners, we designed a custom built in that gave each family member their own space to store their belongings.  As a result, the unit was fitted with hooks to hang coats and bags, and a bench with liftable seats for added storage.

Like most of our custom built in projects, we built this piece out of poplar.  Poplar is a great choice for projects like this because it is sturdy and looks great when painted.  The painters started their work once the carpentry was complete. They filled all of the nail holes and gave the unit a coat of primer. Afterwards, they applied two coats of oil-based paint when the primer was completely dried.

We completed this project in only three days. As soon as we left, each family member “moved in” to their cubby. At last, all their coats, bags and shoes had found their home.

The homeowners were so happy with this project that they asked our team at Monk’s to create custom built ins for other areas of their home.
