Painting a House Dark Blue

Project Info

Location: Florham Park, NJ
Scope of Work: Exterior carpentry and exterior painting

A new exterior color can add curb appeal and make it look up-to-date. Currently, dark blues are very popular exterior paint colors. We took this home from medium grey to dark blue and the change makes the home pop.

Monk’s Method

Changing the color of your home can really change its overall appearance. To prepare this home for its new color scheme, Monk’s painters first scraped any peeling grey paint from the exterior. They also scraped trim areas as well. Once this was completed, the painters power washed the entire house.

After the home had dried from the cleaning, a primer was applied. Then, painters applied two coats of premium paint in a deep blue hue. Trim pieces were painted a bright white. The contrast with the blue is very striking.

A detached shed was also given the same painting treatment.

Carpenters were also on hand to replace the trim pieces around the front door.

Now, this home has a brand new look with a great new color.

If you’re considering a new color for your home, call us. We work with Sherwin-Williams color consultants. They will come to your home and suggest some colors for your home. The color consultation is free when you paint your house!
