Two-Toned Kitchen with a Hint of Glam

For this project, the homeowner had a very clear vision of what she wanted in her new kitchen. From the two-toned cabinetry to the placement of the refrigerator, this kitchen remodeling project was definitively outlined by the client. Our job was to design the cabinetry configuration, finalize and source the materials, and of course, bring it all to fruition.

Monk’s Method

The client had some must-haves for her updated kitchen layout. She wanted the kitchen to be brighter and feel more open. So, she requested more windowed space above the sink. We put in three windows that spanned from the countertop to almost the ceiling.

Secondly, the homeowner wanted to refrigerator to move next to the pantry area. This would help deliver more countertop space, another requirement of the new kitchen.

Installing a floor-to-ceiling built-in coffee bar was her third request. This would provide a place for the coffee and tea appliances, off of the main kitchen countertop. It would also provide substantial storage to replace what was lost by adding more windows.

Our Designer created a complete kitchen layout taking into account these requirements. She designed the cherry-stained coffee bar, resembling a free-standing hutch. This cabinetry matched the new elongated island cabinetry. The remaining kitchen cabinetry, including the pantry and refrigerator door panel, was an antique white. The two-toned cabinetry was a design request from the client.

The copper hood above the stove is the focal point of the kitchen that ties everything together. This is a Venetian-style hood from Amore Design Factory.

The final touch were the crystal pendants that hang above the island. A little bit of sparkle adds a touch of glamour to this new two-toned kitchen.
