Scope of work: Carpentry Painting
Location: Morristown, NJ 07960
Timeline: 10 days
Quite a selection of new cabinetry, as well as existing, was requested to be painted in this Morristown, NJ home. The homeowners wanted all wood to be painted white to match the trim throughout the home. This included painting a number of built-ins, as well as all of the kitchen cabinetry.
The first step in this project was to give all of the newly built cabinets a full sanding. We filled all the knot holes. This is an important step because it ensures that the paint job will be smooth and even.
After the final sanding, painting can begin. Painters gave the new cabinetry a coat of oil based primer. Following the primer we applied three coats of oil based paint. This project included painting built-in shelving, entryway cubbies, and an entertainment nook.
In the kitchen, all the cabinetry was a medium brown color. We removed all the cabinet doors and sprayed them white. However, we painted the cabinetry frames and panels in situ.
