Project Description
Location: Chatham, NJ
Scope of Work: Bathroom remodel
This bathroom in a 150-year-old home was looking pretty good for its age. This three-piece, first-floor bathroom featured an unused shower. We were able to increase the utility of the room by converting the shower into a custom linen closet. We re-tiled the floor and installed a new toilet and pedestal sink as well.
Monk’s Method
During the shower conversion process, we discovered that the bathroom was sitting on four layers of sub-floor. We took the bathroom down to the original framing and re-framed the floor to make it level. A single new sub-floor was installed and then the new tile was installed over top.
to convert it from a shower, our Monk’s team created a custom linen closet. Custom-built doors were created to best accommodate the existing space from the converted shower.

The room was repaired where needed and freshly painted to complete the renovation. You can also view a video of a 7-day bathroom renovation we did in Chatham, NJ.
