The Presbyterian Church of Madison is the oldest congregation in Madison, New Jersey. The current site of the church is on Green Avenue. The Webb family commissioned the building of the chapel, in memory of their son, in 1887 in the Romanesque Revival style. As the congregation grew, so did the building. Then the Parish House was added in 1929 to hold Sunday School. Lastly, the current sanctuary, along with its prominent steeple, was constructed in 1954.
In late 2017, the sanctuary suffered a roof leak, damaging portions of the ceiling and wall. Monk’s painters were able to provide a repair and repaint in just a day.

Interior Painting at the Presbyterian Church in Madison NJ
As soon as the roof leak was identified, the church facilities manager had a roofer out to repair the leak. Once the roofer fixed the exterior and the leak had dried, we came in to make the interior repairs. Fortunately, the water damage was limited. Our crew did not need to perform any carpentry work. In fact, we didn’t even need to replace large sections of sheetrock.
We patched the damaged wall and ceiling areas. We sanded and primed these areas. When the repaired areas had dried, painted the affected sections. The painters color-matched the existing wall and ceiling colors to blend in seamlessly with the rest of the space.
The church organist was back practicing after only a day of interruption.
