Scope of work: Attic Renovation, Carpentry, Interior Painting
Location: Morris Plains, NJ 07950
Timeline: 3 weeks
Many people keep their attics unfinished, using them merely as storage space. With proper carpentry work it is possible to turn this space in your home into a bright livable space. Over the course of three weeks our team completely finished this Morris Plains, NJ attic so that the homeowners could use the space as a bedroom.
After securing the necessary permits, we began this remodeling project by framing out the entire attic space.
Closed cell spray foam insulation was applied to the inside roof and every exterior wall. This provides insulation, as well as bringing it up to code.
This finishing project added access doors to the attic’s crawl space. We hung new sheetrock throughout the entire attic.
Carpenters removed the existing window and installed an energy-efficient replacement. This window was selected and purchased from the Monk’s showroom. Then the carpenters installed a custom built in window bench. We built this bench out of birch wood. Along with the windows, the homeowners also purchased the new closet doors from Monk’s. Carpenters hung the closet door, as well.
The electrician put in the new lighting, as well as the brand new smoke detectors.
We built a half wall and installed a new railing up the stairwell. Painters gave the entire attic a full interior paint job.
After three weeks of work by our team at Monk’s Home Improvements this attic was completely transformed and ready to be used as an additional bedroom.
